As a part of my portfolio, I am thrilled to showcase a design project that followed the successful implementation of a comprehensive brand redesign for the core BlueLinx identity, which also included meticulously re-crafting the company’s portfolio brands. In this entry, I present my innovative design for a new product intended for prominent display in major retail stores where BlueLinx distributes its products.
Objective: The primary objective of this project was to create a distinctive product design that would elevate BlueLinx’s presence in big box stores. The new product, a durable box measuring 8x8x24, was specifically tailored to accommodate large rolls of transparent 6mil Poly Film. The aim was to differentiate this packaging from the standard options found in the paint section, catering to a targeted audience of builders and industry professionals.
Process / Execution: To achieve this, I embarked on an in-depth design process, considering both the practical aspects and aesthetic appeal. Collaborating with various stakeholders, I explored materials and structural options to ensure the box’s durability and functionality. Attention to detail and precision were paramount during the design phase to align with the revamped BlueLinx brand identity.
Results: The final design successfully surpassed expectations, providing BlueLinx with a standout product that will impact and strengthen its market presence. The new packaging’s superior durability and appealing aesthetics resonate well with the target audience of builders and industry professionals, earning positive feedback. This project exemplifies my ability to combine creativity with practicality, contributing to the overall success of BlueLinx’s brand portfolio expansion.
