JuneFest Map

Illustrated Art / Printed Poster

As part of the vibrant summer festival scene in Cincinnati, JuneFest holds a prominent place as the first festival on the summer calendar. This event serves as a crucial fundraiser for the Cardinal Pacelli School, contributing significantly to its yearly revenue. To enhance the festival’s competitiveness among other local events, I undertook the responsibility of developing an engaging map campaign and designing large posters strategically displayed in nearby businesses. Additionally, I created scaled-down versions of the posters suitable for black-and-white distribution in the parish newsletter publications. This portfolio entry delves into the objective, process, execution, and results of the JuneFest awareness campaign, which proved to be a resounding success and continued to yield positive outcomes for subsequent years.

Objective: The primary objective of the JuneFest awareness campaign was twofold. Firstly, it aimed to raise the festival’s profile within the local community and beyond to attract a broader audience. Secondly, and most importantly, the campaign sought to boost fundraising efforts for the Cardinal Pacelli School, ensuring financial support for its programs and activities. By crafting an engaging and visually appealing campaign, the goal was to create excitement and anticipation among festival-goers, encouraging greater attendance and participation.

Process: The process of developing the JuneFest awareness campaign involved several key steps. It began with thorough research on successful festival marketing strategies to identify effective elements to incorporate. Understanding the festival’s target audience and its unique selling points allowed for the creation of a compelling message that resonated with potential attendees. Collaborating with the festival organizers and stakeholders, I developed a comprehensive map highlighting the event’s various attractions and activities, making it easier for visitors to navigate the festival grounds. I meticulously designed eye-catching posters that showcased the festival’s vibrant spirit and showcased them prominently in local businesses to maximize visibility.

Execution: Executing the campaign required a seamless combination of creativity, design expertise, and effective communication. The map campaign was created to be visually appealing and user-friendly, ensuring that attendees could easily find their way around the event. The large posters displayed in local establishments featured captivating visuals and concise, persuasive content, enticing passersby to mark their calendars for the festival. Simultaneously, the adapted black-and-white versions distributed in parish newsletters ensured a wider reach, even in areas without access to full-color prints. Collaborating with local businesses and leveraging their support proved instrumental in securing optimal poster placements and generating excitement among their patrons.

Results: The JuneFest awareness campaign yielded remarkable results that surpassed expectations. The festival experienced a substantial increase in attendance, with a diverse audience comprising both regular attendees and first-time visitors. This heightened interest translated directly into a significant surge in fundraising revenue for the Cardinal Pacelli School, surpassing previous years’ records. The campaign’s impact was not limited to the current year alone; it created a lasting positive impression, with subsequent JuneFest events continuing to benefit from the increased community engagement and ongoing support from local businesses.

The JuneFest awareness campaign stands as a testament to the power of strategic marketing and community collaboration in driving success for a fundraising event. Through meticulous planning, creative execution, and the support of the local community, the campaign achieved its objectives and solidified JuneFest’s position as a must-attend event in Cincinnati’s summer festival calendar while ensuring sustained financial support for the Cardinal Pacelli School.
