Direct Mail publication

I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with a full production team and contribute to the design of monthly publications for Blockbuster Video. These publications served as a captivating platform to showcase their New Feature videos through multi-page direct mail pieces. Additionally, I played a key role in creating a special Holiday Gift Guide that was distributed annually, featuring the latest releases, toys, and equipment.

Objective and Process: In this project, my primary responsibility was to craft unique and contemporary covers that perfectly complemented the content of each publication. These covers were meticulously designed to adhere to specific templates and strict brand guidelines, ensuring a cohesive and polished visual identity. To maintain consistency throughout the publications, I collaborated closely with production artists who expertly assembled the interior pages using fonts and colors previously chosen during my cover design phase.

Execution: One of the project’s challenges was managing tight deadlines to deliver the monthly mailers promptly. Through effective time management, I successfully met quick turnarounds without compromising the quality of the final product. Throughout the entire creative process, I remained actively engaged in generating innovative ideas and ensuring alignment with the project’s vision.

Results: Overall, my involvement in designing for Blockbuster Video’s publications allowed me to demonstrate my design skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
